CIMG Inducts 66 New Members, Highlights AI’s Role in Transforming Marketing

The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), has inducted 66 new members, comprising 64 individuals and two corporate entities, from various organisations in a ceremony held in Accra.

The new inductees, drawn from diverse industries such as education, finance, media, insurance, and public administration, went through a rigorous process of vetting, qualification verification, and final recommendations.

The induction was part of the 33rd President’s Ball and induction ceremony, held under the theme “Harnessing the Power of AI as a Transformative Tool for Marketers.”

Speaking at the event, the president of CIMG, Dr Kasser Tee, praised the inductees for their dedication and potential to bring fresh ideas to the marketing profession in Ghana.

“These committed marketers have earned their membership, and we are excited to welcome them into the institute. Their innovative ideas will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement of our profession,” he said.

Dr. Tee also urged marketers to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a transformative tool while maintaining ethical standards in its application.

“AI offers us unparalleled opportunities to gain insights, enhance efficiency, and deliver personalised experiences that resonate with our audience,” he said.

He further described AI as a revolutionary force in consumer engagement, data analysis, and strategy development but cautioned that its use must prioritise respect for privacy, transparency, and integrity.

“We must ensure that AI serves to enhance, rather than undermine, the trust consumers place in us,” he added.

With the upcoming elections in focus, Dr. Tee called on Ghanaians to uphold peace and unity. He commended the 12 presidential candidates for signing a peace pact and urged all citizens to conduct themselves with civility and respect during the electoral process.

Describing the President’s Ball as a celebration of achievements, he said it also serves as an opportunity to reflect on the future of marketing in Ghana. Adding that “the event underscores CIMG’s commitment to fostering leadership and innovation within Ghana’s marketing industry while setting a vision for adapting to transformative tools such as AI.
