 Decathlon Ghana, GFA renew partnership

Decathlon Ghana Limited has renewed its partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for another four years.

Under the renewal agreement, Decathlon Ghana will maintain its role as the sports retail partner of the GFA for the sale of all paraphernalia and other merchandising products.

Decathlon Ghana will also continue to supply essential training equipment and sports gear, such as footballs, cones, and bibs, to support the developmental agenda of the FA as well as offer expert sports advice.

Speaking at the signing ceremony at the Decathlon Ghana shop at the Accra Mall on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr Geoffrey Fadoul, expressed delight at the renewal, noting that it would afford them the opportunity to continue to collaborate with the FA to provide the platform that showcases Ghana’s immense talent to the world.

“Decathlon is standing by today and renewing our commitment to the GFA which has been putting in a lot of efforts to promote and develop football across the nation. Without the GFA leadership, football in Ghana would not be where it is now,” he stated.

“Football in Ghana has the potential to reach even greater heights, and this is where we believe we can play a role. So to achieve this, we must invest in our grassroots, create better structures for player development, enhance the local leagues, and strengthen the football administration,” he added.

The GFA president, Mr Kurt Okraku, thanked Decathlon Ghana for believing in his leadership and joining forces with the Association at a time that most companies shied away.

“Decathlon came in at a time we needed support with our strategic agenda of fixing the fundamentals and offering hope to the hopeless, opportunities to people who ordinarily would not have opportunities, and providing the basic support for our boys and girls from the woods of Ghana to be able to realise their dreams of playing football.”
