A DELEGATION from the palace of the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Naa Abubakari II, on Monday visited the Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, to solidarise with him after his near-fatal accident.
Initiated by the Ya-Naa, the visit was to enquire about the minister’s health following the accident.
The delegation was led by the Paramount Chief of Zangbalun, Naa Dr Yakubu Mahama, who conveyed a goodwill message on behalf of the Dagbon overlord. The message expressed concern about the minister’s condition and underscored his role in national development, particularly in the education sector.
The Ya-Naa urged him to prioritise his recovery, noting that the country required his service. He also expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life and prayed for his full recovery.
The visit highlighted the role of traditional authorities in promoting unity, compassion and national cohesion.
Mr Iddrisu, who received the delegation at his residence, expressed appreciation to the Ya-Naa and the delegation for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of solidarity and support.
The visit reflects the cordial relationship between traditional leadership and public service, and the importance of collective responsibility in national development.
