The former Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Dr Albert Antwi-Boasiako, has been appointed to serve as the Executive Chairman of the e-Crime Bureau by the new Board of Directors of the organisation.
Dr Antwi-Boasiako founded the e-Crime Bureau in 2011 and served as the organisation’s Principal Consultant until 2017, when he was appointed to serve in public office. He established the CSA and acted as the Authority’s first Director-General until March 2025.
The Bureau has also appointed distinguished professionals and business leaders as Board Members to provide strategic guidance and support to advance the organisation’s strategy. Members of the Board include Mr Daniel Adoteye, Dr Suzanne Nti, Professor Goski Alabi, Mr Hicham El Achgar, and Mr Michael Abbiw, with Mr Emmanuel Agyei as the Consulting Chief Executive. Ms Cecilia Antwi Kyem has also been appointed as Board Secretary.
At a brief ceremony yesterday in Accra, to inaugurate the third Governing Board Members to the Bureau, Dr Antwi-Boasiako said he was honoured to be entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the Executive Chairman of the Bureau. He commended the Bureau for its achievements and said he would particularly focus on the firm’s growth and aspirations, thereby driving the Bureau into the international market.
He said the inauguration of the 3rd Governing Board of the Bureau would align with the firm’s transition and growth strategy, which focuses on scaling up the Bureau’s service portfolio and market reach, both in Ghana and across targeted international markets.
Dr Antwi-Boasiako thanked the Bureau for the appointment, stressing that, “I look forward to working closely with Members of the Board, the Executive Consulting Leadership and staff, Partners and Clients towards the realisation of the transition and growth strategy of the firm.” He said he would provide strategic direction to the firm to drive the firm’s international market in positioning the Bureau as a Pan-African leader in cybersecurity consulting, technology solutions, and business transformation.
Dr Antwi-Boasiako also served as the founding Chair of the African Network of Cyber Security Authorities (ANCA), leading the pan-African body and working closely with the Smart Africa Alliance to adopt ANCA’s constitutional framework and a 5-year blueprint to support cybersecurity development on the continent. He led the institutionalisation of Ghana’s cybersecurity, driving the country’s cybersecurity readiness from 32.6 per cent when he was first appointed in 2017 to 99.27 per cent by 2025, according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s Global Cybersecurity Index.
