Go shine, make Ghana proud …SWAG tells Medeama, Dreams FC
The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has charged Ghanaian football fans to rally behind Medeama SC and Dreams FC on their respective Africa championship campaigns.
Medeama SC is participating in the CAF Champions League competition this year, while Dreams FC represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup.
For Medeama SC, their return to Africa club competition was by virtue of winning the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League (GPL).
They will host Nigerian champions, Remo Stars FC, in the first leg game on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium.
For Dreams FC, it would be their first experience and would face Milo FC de Kankan of Guinea in the Confederation Cup Preliminary stage tomorrow.
A statement from SWAG signed by its President, Mr Kwabena Yeboah, charged all Ghanaians in and around Cape Coast to troop to the Cape Coast Stadium to cheer on Medeama to victory.
The statement said the two clubs need support from all stakeholders, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), the Football Association, the media, and the public as they seek glory for the nation.
It urged them not to underrate themselves but use the trophies they won locally as a shining example to inspire them to continental victories.
The statement further tasked players of the two teams to use the platform to shine, represent Ghana well and make Ghanaians proud.
