Guinness Ghana launches ‘Matchday,’ FPL for new EPL season

Guinness Gha­na, the official beverage partner of the English Premier League, has launched an initiative dubbed, ‘Match Day’ and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) for the 2024/25 season.

The Matchday experience brought fans closer and created memorable moments, featuring big screen match viewing, jama, brass band session and other interactive activities before, during and after the game for the fans.

The launch of the event dubbed ‘Guinness EPL Matchday’ took place on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Barndoor Beer Garden in Osu.

The event which ushered in the new EPL season brought together football lovers and influencers as they watched the game between defending champions, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

At the end of the game, Man­chester City overpowered Chelsea, beating them 2-0 at the Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at the event, Wilma Amoo-Osae, Brand Manager of Guinness Ghana who was en­thralled by the event expressed her appreciation to all football enthusi­asts for their participation.

According to her from now to December people would be reward­ed watching the EPL at their favou­rite’s spots, adding that, “fans can look forward to an enhanced match day experience, both at home and at various venues.”

Mrs Amoo-Osae revealed that they would give away weekly and monthly prizes, adding that at the end of the season, the win­ner would have the opportunity to watch a live EPL match next season.

She said, “the ultimate prize is a trip to watch the EPL live next sea­son. Additionally, we have monthly prizes such as PlayStation consoles, autographed jerseys, and vouchers. Weekly winners can enjoy bottles of Guinness, branded footballs, and exclusive merchandise.”

Mrs Amoo-Osae further noted that partnering with the EPL allows them to engage with football fans in a meaningful way, providing them with a premium match day experience and further cement Guinness as the perfect pair for football.
