GUTA honours BoG Governor for stabilising Cedi, easing inflation

DR Johnson Pandit Asiama, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, has been honoured by the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) for his significant contribution to stabilising the national economy.
He received the Policy Impact Award at GUTA’s Awards Night, held alongside the inauguration of its newly elected executives in Accra.
The recognition, according to the association, reflects his leadership in reducing inflationary pressures and restoring relative stability to the Ghana cedi in recent months.
GUTA commended the Governor for implementing prudent monetary policies that have helped ease the burden on traders and businesses across the country.
The association noted that improved currency stability has contributed to a more predictable trading environment.
The award was received on behalf of Dr Asiama by Mr Bernard Otabil, Director of Communications at the Bank of Ghana, and Ms Aimee Quashie, Secretary to the Bank.
In a brief remark, GUTA expressed optimism that the Bank of Ghana would sustain the current gains and continue to introduce measures that support business growth and economic resilience.
The ceremony formed part of activities marking the transition of leadership within the association, bringing together key stakeholders in the trade and financial sectors.
