Ho gets ready, commercial airline to resume flight for March 6
The Volta Regional capital, Ho, is undergoing facelift few days to hosting Ghanaians from all walks of life and delegates of international community to the 66th Independence Day celebration.
The Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Devine Divine Bosson in an interview with the Ghanaian Times said the municipality had become the focus of attention and it was poised to deliver a good event.
He said the Ho Airport which had rarely been used by commercial air operators for lack of adequate passengers would resume operations as a result of volume of passengers who may be coming by air.
He said a guard of honour would be given to persons who would pass through the Very Important Personality (VIP) lounge of the airport.
The MCE said the road stretching from the airport to town had been given a facelift and adorned with street lights and all malfunction street lights had been fixed to boost security at the anniversary site, its peripherals and on the outskirts of town.
Mr Bosson said the entire Youth Centre, the main venue of the event at Adaklu which until recently had water challenges, would be connected with water by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to the event site to service the washrooms to maintain high standard of hygienic conditions during the event and afterwards.
With regards to electricity during the event, he said, adequate measures had been put in place to ensure no disruption in the supply system, adding, in both the water and electricity situation adequate complementary efforts would be on standby for any eventuality.
