iDE Global CEO commends Ghana Team for transforming lives
The Chief Executive Officer of iDE Global, Mr Reed Peterson, has lauded the outstanding performance of iDE Ghana in working to address poverty and improving livelihoods in the country.
He said the organisation had created opportunities for poor and vulnerable communities through market-based solutions, with focus on agriculture, climate resilience, entrepreneurship and inclusive economic development.

Speaking at the end of his visit, Mr Peterson said he was deeply impressed by the scale of innovation, commitment and measurable impact being delivered by the Ghana office, particularly in empowering smallholder farmers, strengthening local enterprises and creating sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable communities.
He said the Ghana team had demonstrated exceptional leadership in translating innovative ideas into practical solutions that continue to improve lives across the country.
“What I have witnessed in Ghana is truly inspiring. The dedication of the team, the quality of partnerships and the tangible impact being made in communities are remarkable. Ghana continues to set a high standard for excellence within iDE Global,” he stated.
The visit formed part of Mr Peterson’s African tour aimed at engaging country teams, assessing programme implementation and strengthening collaboration across iDE’s operations on the continent.
During the tour of project communities, he interacted with farmers, entrepreneurs, local leaders and development partners to better understand how iDE’s market-based approach is helping families increase incomes, improve food security and build resilience against climate change.
Mr Peterson also praised the Ghana team’s ability to build strong partnerships with government institutions, the private sector, development partners and local communities, citing that such collaboration was essential for achieving sustainable development outcomes.
He observed that beyond implementing projects, iDE Ghana was creating sustainable systems that enable communities to become economically resilient and self-reliant.
The CEO expressed confidence that the innovations, best practices and lessons emerging from Ghana would serve as valuable models for other iDE country programmes across Africa and beyond.
He reaffirmed iDE Global’s commitment to supporting the Ghana office to scale up its impact, deepen innovation and extend sustainable development solutions to more underserved communities.
The Acting Country Director of iDE Ghana, Ms Alhassan Hilda Wunniche, said the recognition from the Global CEO reflected the collective efforts of the entire Ghana team and the strong institutional foundation that has been built over the years.
She paid tribute to the Country Director, Mr Abdul-Mumin Damba Tahidu, describing him as an exceptional leader whose vision and commitment had positioned iDE Ghana as a model country programme within the global organisation.
The visit also provided an opportunity for discussions on future strategic priorities, including climate-smart agriculture, youth employment, women’s economic empowerment and inclusive market systems aimed at accelerating sustainable development across the continent.
With operations across several regions of Ghana, iDE continues to work with thousands of smallholder farmers and rural entrepreneurs by providing access to innovative technologies, markets, and finance and business development services, helping communities build resilient, prosperous and climate-smart livelihoods.
