Lutheran churches climax Easter with fun games

The games, ranging from 100-metre racing, 50-metre walk, musical chairs, football, sack race, lime and spoon, eating competition, penalty kicks for women and men, draw your sword, ludo and card games sought to provide an avenue for church members to celebrate the Easter festivity by socialising with other congregants of the church from different branches.
Participants of the competition included members of St Pauls, St Peters, All Saints, Calvary, Resurrection, St Andrews, Trinity and Christ Lutheran churches with members that excelled receiving trophies, gold, silver and bronze medals.
Speaking at the games, the coordinator for the Lutheran Media Ministry, Kwesi Nyantakyi Sapong, said the games were not just to keep participants fit, but a way to mobilise hundreds of people including non-members of the church to preach and spread the gospels to them.
He urged Christians to emulate the life of Jesus Christ; saying that “as believers, we must go out there and evangelise, unite ourselves and serve as examples to the non-believers.”
Mr Sapong commended the participants for their effort and urged them to remain resolute in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Acting General Secretary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana, Reverend Edward Sereko-Younge, called for unity among believers to grow the ministry of God.
He expressed gratitude to the two organising institutions for their constant support and collaboration in making their vision of bringing Christ to the nations and the nations to the church a success.
