Mion MP Boosts Transport Capacity of Key Public Institutions

THE Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mion Constituency in the Northern Region, Alhaji Misbaw Adam Mahama, has presented eight Apsonic AP200GY-7 and AP200GY-3 motorbikes, six brand-new Dell laptops, and four brand-new vehicle tyres to key departments in the constituency.

The beneficiary institutions included the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the Department of Agriculture, and the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The items, valued at GH₵232,000, are intended to support the departments by improving their transport and logistics capacity within the district.

Presenting the items at a brief ceremony held in Sang, the district capital of Mion, on Thursday, Alhaji Mahama said the donation formed part of his initiative to support institutions in the district and strengthen their transport systems.

He said the gesture would go a long way towards strengthening the relationship between his office and the various institutions across the district.

Alhaji Mahama stated that this was his modest contribution towards relieving the institutions of logistics constraints and enhancing their operational efficiency.

The MP assured the beneficiaries of his continued support to enable them to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently in the district.

He added that within just one year, he had been able to secure more job opportunities for the youth in the district across various sectors nationwide.

Alhaji Mahama, however, appealed to the institutions to ensure regular maintenance of the equipment to guarantee a long lifespan.

The Mion District Chief Executive, Mr. Azindow Hamza Moabalyn, said that through the efforts of the government, several projects had been implemented to equip and empower the youth in the district.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure in the district, noting that since assuming office, the administration had undertaken several infrastructure projects across the area.

He added that the government would continue to bring development to the district and urged residents to remain patient as more projects were rolled out.

The Mion District Director of the Ghana Education Service, Mr. Mohammed Dawuda, speaking on behalf of the departmental heads, commended the MP for the gesture, describing it as the first time the departments had received such significant support from their MP.

He said the donation would enhance their visibility and mobility across the district, enabling them to effectively carry out their official duties.

Mr. Dawuda also assured the MP that the equipment would be put to its intended use and properly maintained.
