MobileMoney Ltd rewards 5 winners in ‘Me Nsa Aka’ promo grand finale

MOBILEMONEY Ltd has held the grand finale of its three-month Me Nsa Aka Promo, rewarding five customers for their consistent use of the MTN MoMo App as part of efforts to accelerate Ghana’s transition to digital financial services.

A businessman Mr Frank Beecham emerged as the overall winner, taking home the GH₵100,000 grand prize.

Other top winners were Ms Dorothy Esenam, who received GH₵50,000, Hui Ling with GH₵30,000, while Gideon Obeng and Joseph Kofi Abavor each won GH₵10,000.

The promotion, under the theme “One MoMo App, Endless Rewards” which ran from September 15 to December 15, was designed to encourage customers to migrate from the USSD *170# platform to the MoMo App, in line with MTN’s broader digital transformation agenda aimed at delivering safer, faster and more convenient mobile money services.

Speaking at the event in Accra on Wednesday, the Manager for Mobile Money Channel Development at MobileMoney Ltd, Mr Faisal Ali, said the promotion was not only intended to reward customer loyalty but also to build confidence in digital finance and promote financial inclusion.

“This promo is about more than just prizes. It is about building trust and making digital finance easier for everyone. Through the MoMo App, customers can send money, pay bills, shop, save and invest in a secure and convenient way,” Mr Ali said.

He described the MoMo App as a comprehensive digital lifestyle platform that offers users greater control, convenience and security, while enabling MTN to introduce new services more quickly and enhance the overall customer experience.

Mr Ali explained that customers who downloaded and actively used the MoMo App during the promotion period were automatically entered into daily, weekly and monthly draws, with prizes of up to GH₵5,000.

The grand finale saw the top five users rewarded with cash prizes of GH₵10,000, GH₵30,000, GH₵50,000 and a grand prize of GH₵100,000.

He cautioned customers, particularly traders, to remain alert to mobile money fraud, especially during the festive season.

“MTN will only contact customers through the official number 024 300 0000. Customers should never share their PIN or One-Time Password with anyone and should always carry out their transactions themselves,” he warned.

Mr Ali also announced an ongoing Free Weekend Transaction Promo, which allows customers who transact on the MoMo App during weekends to enjoy zero transaction fees.

He congratulated the winners and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to promoting safe digital transactions while rewarding customers who embrace digital financial services.

A representative of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Ms Ernestina Ofosua Addo, assured the public of the transparency and integrity of the promotion.

“As a regulator of all consumer promotions, I can confirm that all entries for this promo were carefully scrutinised and validated. The process was free, fair and devoid of any malpractice,” she said.

Speaking after receiving his award, Mr Beecham said he had participated unintentionally by simply using the MoMo App for his routine transactions, and encouraged Ghanaians to adopt the platform for their daily financial needs.
