Bodi DCE calls on chiefs to support Western North Regional Minister

The District Chief Executive for the Bodi District of the Western North Region, Mr Ignatius Akwasi Amankwah, has called on traditional authorities to support the Regional Minister to give off his best in the administration of the region.

The DCE made the call when Mr Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu, the Regional Minister for the newly created Western North Region, paid a courtesy call on the chiefs as part of a day’s working visit to the district.

He also appealed to the people to support the Nana Addo led government and the Regional Minister to develop the area, since  the district had a lot of challenges and was hopeful that the government would help to solve the challenges.

Mr Amankwah, as part of the visit, took the Regional Minister to some project sites to inspect ongoing works and also cut sod for the construction of new projects in the district.

Some of the projects they inspected include, the Bodi Clinic, bungalows for district assembly  staff, Amoaya Market  and Amoaya community durbar grounds.

They also inspected some facilities at the Sefwi Bodi Senior High School and paid a courtesy call on the Amoayahene.

Mr Aboagye-Gyedu, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai constituency, appealed to the kingmakers of Sefwi Bodi traditional area to smoke the peace pipe, as they prepare to enstool a new chief for the area.

He assured them of government’s support in their preparations towards the enstoolment of the new chief.

Mr Aboagye-Gyedu advised public servants in the Bodi District to desist from unnecessary politicking during their line of duty.

On roads, the Minister assured the chiefs and people of Sefwi Amoaya of government’s plans to construct the Amoaya-Kalo road, Bodi-Ahebenso road and all other cocoa roads in the district.

“Nananom, we have charged the contractor who is in charge of the Amoaya town roads to come back to site and complete the work as soon as possible, likewise, Attaboka junction to Bodi, we  are  also working on Bodi to Ahebenso road and very soon the contractor would be on site.” GNA
