BISCO appeals to govt to support it with bus, library complex
The Headmaster of Business Senior High School, MrAlhassan Adam Mubarak has appealed to the government to support the school with a school bus and library complex.
He said the only bus that supported the school in terms of transportation had not been use for years now.
Mr Mubarak stressed that, the absence of the school bus hindered transportation of the students in the school to carry out their research work and other educational functions
The headmaster made the request here in Tamale last Saturday at the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Business Senior High School (SHS).
It was on the theme “Bisco @ 60: The Beacon of Business Education in Northern Ghana.
He said inadequate assembly hall and classrooms also posed a challenge to the school making studies very difficult for the students to study
Mr Mubarak added that persistent water shortage in the school compelled the students to trek miles to search for water outside the school campus
The headmaster stated that the management of the school were stronger, united, and resolute in commitment to providing quality education for the students.
He said the school had produce a number of quality students and notable amongst them were the Managing Director, Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority, Mr Michael Achegawe Luguje,Prof. Daniel A. Bagah, Member of Council State, Alhaji Mumuni Musah, first student of the school and Managing Director of Mima Construction Limited,Alhaji Wumbei of Mawums Construction Limited, Alhaji Baba Adam, Director of Finance at NDA and currentl NDC Parliament Candidate for Sagnarigu Constituency, Mr Atta Issah.
He therefore called on the authorities to come to the aid of the school to support them to address challenges confronting the school.
The Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Sayinbu who was a guest speaker affirmed the government commitment of expanding infrastructure development of Senior High Schools across the country.
He stated that the legacy of the school recognised its significant contribution in shaping the landscape of business education in Northern Ghana
AlhajiSayibu added that, business education plays a pivotal role in shaping the future leaders of the nation and equips individuals with essential skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and financial literacy amongst others.
“These skills are not only vital for personal success but also contribute significantly to economic growth and development” he said
He stated that, the school had not only provide quality education but also instilled in its students values of integrity, innovation and entrepreneurship qualities that were essential for success.
The Minister urged the alumni to uphold the importance of giving back to their alma mater through their collective efforts that to ensured that the school continued its legacy as a centre for excellence in education.
The minister therefore urged them to continue to work together to ensure that Bisco remains at the forefront of providing quality education for many more years to come.
