Defending men’s Rugby League 13s champions, Bulls RLFC, capped off an impressive season in the championship by beating Skolars RLFC 36-22 in the Grand Final played at the University of Ghana Rugby pitch in Legon.

Bulls, the 2019 and 2024 champions, reached the finals on the back of a nail-biting 16–14 victory over Nungua Tigers in the playoffs game and were expected to have it tough against the three-time league champions.

Bulls struck first through Collins Ofosu, with Richard Browne Asare converting.

Skolars, who were the 2021, 2022, and 2023 champions, accepted the challenge and hit back via Michael Egyiri and Elikem Kuwornu tries, but Chris Dagama missed one of the two conversions before scoring a penalty.

Tries from Reindorf Nikoi, Sugri Hakeem, and Desmond Geotrah and two out of three conversions by Browne Asare gave the Bulls a 22–12 halftime lead.

Back from the break, Skolars mounted a strong comeback with Riddick Alibah and Chris Dagama scoring a try each, with Dagama converting one out of two to bring the scores to 22-22 apiece.

Bulls regrouped and tightened their grip on the game with Emmanuel Boison, Geotrah, and Browne powering over the line to score three tries, with Browne converting one out of the three conversions to take their tally to 36–22 in the 74th minute.

The remaining six minutes was tension-packed as Skolars tried their best to reduce the tally, but the Bulls’ defence held on to equal Skolars’ record of three league titles.

For their sweat, Bulls received a glittering trophy plus medals, with Skolars walking home with medals.

Gideon Klugey of Nungua Tigers was adjudged the highest try scorer of the league with 19 tries, while Kofi Montchon was recognised as the player with the most conversions at 30.

On the day, Julius Fiakpornu and Millicent Njomba received their August Players of the Month award.
