Christians urged to share God’s word, use talents faithfully
Christians have been urged to share the word of God freely and make good use of the gifts and talents entrusted to them for the benefit of others and the growth of God’s kingdom.
The Founder of the Sanctuary of Grace Bible Church International, Apostle Eric King Botchwey, gave the advice during a church service last Sunday.
He reminded believers that just as they had received the Gospel freely, they also had a responsibility to pass it on to others.
Apostle Botchwey observed that although many Christians were spiritually equipped with knowledge of God’s word, they had failed to impart it to others.
He likened such believers to pregnant women carrying a child, explaining that the word of God deposited in them must be brought forth to bless others.
“It is time to bring forth what God has placed in you so that others will benefit and you will become a blessing,” he said.
Drawing lessons from the biblical parable of the servants entrusted with their master’s money, Apostle Botchwey stressed that God expected every believer to use his or her gifts productively rather than hide them.
He urged Christians to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling, remain focused on Jesus Christ, and avoid comparing themselves with others.
According to him, believers must set their affection on God and depend on His grace to remain steadfast in their Christian walk.
The Head Pastor also cautioned against what he described as “spiritual truancy”, explaining that just as some students absent themselves from school without permission, some Christians neglect prayer, Bible study, evangelism and other spiritual responsibilities.
He said such attitudes hindered spiritual growth and prevented believers from fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives.
Apostle Botchwey further warned against making excuses for failing to use God-given talents, noting that those who used what had been entrusted to them faithfully would be rewarded, while those who neglected their responsibilities risked losing opportunities to serve.
He, therefore, called on Christians to remain committed to God’s work, rely on His grace, and faithfully use their gifts and talents to advance His kingdom and bless humanity.
