Nsumia Church of Christ holds Children’s Day
The Children Ministry of Church of Christ at Nsumia in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality last weekend held their annual Children’s Day celebration for 2024 on the theme: ‘That You Should Go and Bear Fruit – Fruit That Will Last Forever.’
As part of the programme, the children were given the opportunity to lead in some aspects of the church service as part of efforts to build their capacity for future leadership roles of the church.
Dressed in white and black apparels, the children engaged in song ministrations, bible recitals, and choreography.
Also the children went through a bible quiz to test their knowledge in the bible, which was won by the boys.
In addition, the children held a drama which emphasised the need for parents to take good care of their wards and children to show respect to their parents and the elderly.
The Preacher of the Nsumia Church of Christ, Evangelist Edward Boakye, said the event, which was an annual programme, was to give opportunity to the children in the church to exhibit their talents.
He stated that the children were the future leaders of the church and it was, therefore, important to groom them for future leadership roles in the church and also give them opportunity to showcase their talents.
Evangelist Boakye advised parents to introduce their children to the bible and encourage them to read it daily in order to guide their lives.
He also emphasised that parents should take their children along to church and not leave them at home to play and gallivant.
Evangelist Boakye further entreated parents not to spend frugally on clothes and social programmes, such as funerals but rather invest massively in the education of their children to give them a better future.
He commended the children for the sterling and exceptional performance they put up in the assignments assigned them.
Moreover, Evangelist Boakye urged them not to rest on their oars, but continue to work and study hard to achieve higher laurels in life.
He paid glowing tribute to the teachers of the Children’s Ministry for the self-less service they were offering to teach and train the children of the church.
