NYA holds 2023 youth conference
The National Youth Authority (NYA) has held its 2023 National Youth Conference to empower the youth with the prerequisite skills for constructive nation building.
The conference held on the theme; ‘Reformed Youth, Reformed Ghana’ was a collaboration between the NYA and the International Youth Fellowship (IYF).
The Chief Executive Officer of NYA, Mr Pius Enam Hadzide, stated that the conference was organised to discuss challenges, problems and propose workable solutions for the country.
He noted that the theme for the conference encapsulates the essence of the NYA’s collective aspirations to stir the nation towards a brighter future.
“The theme calls upon us to reflect upon our past, acknowledge our present challenges and work tirelessly to reform and re-shape our nation for the better,” he stressed.
Mr Hadzide was optimistic that, the conference would enable the youth to brainstorm innovative ideas that would be shared to shape the trajectory of the nation.
“The conference will seek to inspire new perspectives, challenge old paradigms and catalyse the emergence of a reformed youth population that is ready to take up the mantle of leadership,” he said.
According to him a reformed Ghana was not merely a vision but a shared aspiration that required concerted efforts from all quarters.
“It is about fostering an environment where the potential of every Ghanaian is unlocked and celebrated,” he added.
He noted that the partnership between the NYA and IYF was anchored in the firm belief that the present and future of the country could be motivated by the example of South Korea, moving from third to first world in records time.
The Vice President of IYF West Africa, Oh Sei Joe, encouraged the youth to share their hearts with others by having a challenging mind-set that seeks to change the world.
He advised the youth to focus on educating their minds to think deeper and solve the many problems in the society, adding “if you educate your mind and have a different mindset, then this country will be a wonderful place to be in for you and also for others.”
