Oly coach charged, Hearts, others fined
Accra Great Olympics Head Coach, James Jimmy Cobblah, has been charged by the Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) with a breach of Section 34 (6) (d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019, following comments he made after their match against Nations FC last week.
The DC in a press release, alleged that Coach Cobblah’s post-match commentary on the match officials of the said game constitutes misconduct that brings the name of the game into disrepute.
By the statement, the beleaguered coach was given up to today to respond to the charges brought against him.
In a related development, the DC imposed a fine of GH¢5,000 on Accra Hearts of Oak for misconduct in their Ghana Premier League game against Dreams FC.
The GFA Prosecutors said Hearts’ Social Media commentary on the match officials of the match constitutes misconduct.
According to the Committee, the club was also found guilty of inappropriate behaviour on the part of its supporters.
New Edubiase’s Abdul Salam Yakubu has also been fined GH¢5,000 by the Committee for misconduct following a media interview with Pipapipa Media.
The Committee found that his commentary on the GFA President, Ghana Premier League and Access Bank Division One League constituted misconduct.
Access Bank Division One League side, Okwahu United, was also fined GH¢5,000 for misconduct in their league game against Hohoe United.
The club was also found guilty of inappropriate behavior on the part of their supporters
Also, Wa Suntaa’s Dua Arif has been charged with a breach of Section 34(6) (d) of the GFA Division One League Regulations over its Social Media commentary.
