Pres Mahama appoints Prof. Goski Alabi as NEFC member

 President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Professor Goski Alabi, President, Laweh Open University, as a key member of the National Education Forum Committee (NEFC).

The appointment rearms Prof. Alabi’s expertise and leadership in academia, governance, and policy development.

Prof. Alabi, a distinguished aca­demic and renowned educationist, brings a wealth of experience to the committee, which is expected to play a crucial role in shaping national policies.

Her appointment underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging the expertise of accom­plished professionals in driving national development.

With an extensive background in higher education, leadership, and public policy, Prof. Alabi is well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to the committee’s work.

Prof. Alabi’s inclusion on the committee is widely seen as a strategic move to enhance policy formulation and implementation, ensuring informed decision mak­ing for the country’s progress.

She is a Professor of Quality Management and Leadership, and holds a BSc in Chemistry and a Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast, and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Food Science from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Prof. Alabi is a Doctor of Business Administration from the Swiss Management Centre, and a PhD in Business Administra­tion from Central University of Nicaragua.

She is the Dean of the Centre for International Education and Collaboration at the University for Professional Studies, Accra, and served as the Founding Dean of the School of Graduate Studies.

Prof. Alabi is also a Chartered Quality Professional (CQP) from the Chartered Quality Institute, UK, and has consulted widely, and has published over 70 scholarly journal articles, book conferences and technical papers.

She proposed and facilitated the establishment of the Otumfuo Centre for Traditional Leadership and the Drolor Centre for Stra­tegic Leadership, two leadership centres of excellence in Ghana.

Prof Alabi is the co-founder of Laweh Open University College. – GNA
