Ridge Church School Trust Fund launched

The Ridge Church School Trust Fund (RCSTF) was on Thursday launched to promote quality education delivery in the country.

The RCSTF is expected to raise funds to support the operations, maintenance, capital expenditure programmes and other projects that would benefit the school and its learners.

The projects include upgrading of facilities, providing scholarships to learners and improving academ­ic programmes.

Launching it, the Vice Chairper­son of the Planning Committee of RCSTF, Mr Enock Ofosu-Appiah stressed the need to invest in Sci­ence, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to turn the industrial wheels of the nation.

He said countries that adopted STEM approach had developed their industries.

The Board Chairperson of the Ridge Church School, Mrs Grace Dede Hanson stated that recent challenges in the educational land­scape have raised an urgent need for private schools in the country to take the giant leap to become a complete one-stop school for all parents.

She said the idea of the fund would help achieve the feat of providing funds for capital expen­diture as well as offering scholar­ship and bursaries to the needy but brilliant students in Accra and other parts of the country.

A member of Board of Gover­nors of the School, Mrs Elfreda Adablah said the fund would help address the infrastructural and other challenges of the school to enhance effective teaching and learning.

An Appeal Court Judge, Ms Merley Wood said the role of the school in the country cannot be taken for granted.

She reminded the trustees of the fund to be transparent and accountable at all times.

Ms Wood charged the mem­bers to use innovational way to get funding to support the school project.

The Board chairperson called on alumni of the school, organisations and philanthropists to contribute to the fund to promote teaching and learning in the country.

As part of the occasion, the Chief of Staff, Mrs Akosua Frema Osei- Opare donated GH¢20,000 and Ms Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Constituency pre­sented GH¢5,000 as part of their contribution to support the fund which generated more than GH¢ 65,000 as seed money.
