SWAG mourns helicopter crash victims

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) yesterday laid a wreath at the Jubilee House to honour the memory of the eight national heroes who tragically lost their lives in the helicopter crash in the Adansi area of the Ashanti Region last Wednesday.
President of the Association, Mr Kwabena Yeboah, on behalf of its patrons, executives, and general assembly, expressed heartfelt sorrow over the tragic incident and called on the government to ensure their sacrifice was not in vain.
Commiserating with the bereaved families, Mr Yeboah noted that the heroes’ sacrifice, service, and dedication to national duty should serve as shining examples for all.
“These are iconic heroes who died in the line of duty; serving their nation,” he stated.
“They were dedicated and selfless individuals who served their country until their Creator called them.”
“This is a national disaster, and SWAG is deeply saddened. However, we trust that the state will ensure their sacrifice does not go in vain.”
As the nation mourns with them, we pray that their families will be strengthened as we collectively grieve this disastrous moment, “he added.
