Adua observed for late Col. Rahman
The Muslim community yesterday observed the third-day Adua (funeral) of the late Colonel Awudu Rahman Managing Director of Yutees Services Limited, a private security firm, who died on Saturday at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
They offered prayers to Allah (God) asking for his mercies, forgiveness and to commit the soul of the distinguished retired military officer, to paradise.
The late Col. Rahman was the husband of Hajia Rabiatu Abdulai, a retired Procurement Officer of the New Times Corporation.
The Adua which was held at the Nima Kardo Mosque was characterised by recitation of the Holy Qur’an and the delivery of a sermon.
The late Colonel was fondly remembered for his distinguished service in the Ghana Armed Forces and his commitment to the ideals of the Coalition of Muslim Organisation (COMOG), for which he was a founding member.
He is remembered for his inspiration to the young generation of military officers and his service to humanity, after retiring from active military service.
Present were Abubakar Saddique Boniface, Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency and with the office of the Vice President; Yussif Jajah, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North Constituency; Alhaji Iddrisu Mahama, former Minister of Defence and leading member of the National Democratic Congress; Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, former Minster of Food and Agriculture.
Also present were serving and retired military officers including Rear Admiral Mohamamed M. Tahir of COMOG, Lieutenant Colonel (rtd) Umar Sanda Ahmed, former Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt.
The final funeral rites would be held on Saturday
