Cadres mourn Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

Mrs Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings will go down in history as a brave warrior, trailblazer, with an extraordinary care for women and children, Mr Sam Garba, former Administrator of Ghana Education Trust Fund (GetFund) and leading member of Cadres of the 31st December Revolution, has said.
Mr Garba said this on Thursday when he led the group to commiserate with the children and family members of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings at the Ridge residence in Accra.
He described Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings as a brave and truthful Cadre with absolute dedication for the emancipation of women and children.
He recounted that her vision of women empowerment was actualised with the establishment of gari processing and other artisanal factories for women, as well as setting up Day Care Centres throughout the country.
Mr Garba made the assertion at the home of the late Mrs Agyeman-Rawlings where he led a cross-section of Cadres to mourn with the children and family of the fallen heroine on Wednesday in Accra.
The Cadres, drawn from the Association of Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (ACDR), the June Fourth Movement (JFM), the Civil Defence Organization (CDO), the 31st December Women’s Movement (DWM) and the Democratic Youth League of Ghana (DYLG), came from all over the country.
In her remarks, Dr Zenator Rawlings expressed sincere appreciation for the honour, adding that it was indicative that the nationalist spirit of Cadres was still present and relevant.
She said Ghana was at the crossroads and needed the fighting spirits of Cadres to bring the country back on course.
The Cadres were later joined by Mr Ato Dadzie, Nana Opoku Acheampong, and Ambassador Mrs Edith Hazel (Cadres who were stationed at the residence) to render Revolutionary songs.
Others were Messrs Kofi Attor, Don Arthur, Kweku Sersah-Johnson, Antwi Boasiako, Issa Hamidu, Godro Kwame Lawson, Torgbuii Amedzake, Rebecca Quarshie, Light Aboetaka, Nii Adjeibu Lamptey, Mercy Akroma, Tony Ekpedzor, Sammy Donkor, and Cassidy.
