Fans of Mbabane Highlanders attack referee

In the Ingwenyama Cup round of 16 in Eswatini, the clash between Mbabane Highlanders and Hotspurs ended not only with a dramatic finish but also with chaotic scenes after the final whistle.

Hotspurs clinched victory thanks to a goal from Luyanda, scored deep into stoppage time.

The ball hit the back of the net in the added minutes, sparking a furious reaction from the Highlanders supporters.

The fans believed the referee had deliberately extended the match by three minutes to give the opposition a chance to snatch victory.
