Former President Mahama calls for unity among NDC Gadangme caucus

Former President, John Dramani Manama has called for unity among the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Gadangme caucus to drive the party to victory in the 2024 general elections.

That, he said would propel the party to garner for more votes both in the parliamentary and presidential elections to bring the party back to power.

Mr Manama disclosed this in a speech read on his behalf by the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Professor Joshua Alabi at the second annual NDC Gadangme Homowo Feast held at the Police Social and Fitness Centre in Accra, Saturday.

It was under the theme: ‘Uniting Gadangmes towards NDC 2024 Victory.’

Mr Mahama who’s also the flagbearer of the party lauded the NDC Gadangme Caucus especially the indigenes for their continuous support and contribution towards the organisation and positioning of the NDC in the Greater Accra Region and the country at large.

The NDC, he said, had the track record of being a people’s party since 1992 and had demonstrated their resolve to act in the interest of the people of Ghana.

The Vice Chairman of the Gadangme Caucus, Nii Armah Ashitey said the essence of the event was to bring Gadangmes together and remind them of their duty to vote massively for the NDC come 2024.

He indicated that, Greater Accra which was the backbone of the NDC was poised to work hard for power in the 2024 elections, saying “that’s why some of us have taken it upon ourselves to mobilise our people and ensure they vote in certain direction and so even if

one million Gadangmes vote, we’re gone as a party.”

The NDC Greater Accra Regional Secretary, TheophilusTetteh Chaie said the event provided an opportunity for the party to mobilise, plan, and strategise to increase votes for the party in the region.

He said it was to also use the group to strengthen the party and propagate the developmental agenda by ensuring areas in Greater Accra, which lack developmental projects, were considered when the party comes to power.

Mr Chaie called on all party supporters to unite and work together to ensure victory for the party and reverse the dwindling fortunes of the country under the Akufo-Addo led government.
