Ghana to participate in 15th Senior, 1st Junior skating World Cup
Ghana will make its maiden appearance at the 15th Senior and 1st Junior World Cup of the Federation International Football Skating (FIFS) 2024, in Türkiye.
The Ghanaian delegation, led by Mr Johnson Kwaku Gameli Kportufe, President of Ghana Skating, has arrived in Türkiye and eager to make a mark in the tournament.
Accompanying him were his General Secretary, Prosper Ashiquaye Doku, and Vice President, Godfrey William Amarteifio.
The delegation presented a junior team for the inaugural edition of the junior tournament, demonstrating Ghana’s commitment to developing the sport among its youth.
The team has talented young football skaters, mainly from the SWAT Skate Club, stationed in Accra.
Although they are likely to face stiff competition from more experienced teams, this will allow the Ghanaians the opportunity to gain invaluable experience and exposure to the international football skating community.
Beyond the tournament, the Ghanaian delegation is expected to participate in a congress, where representatives from participating countries will convene to discuss the progress and growth of football skating globally.
President Kportufe expressed his optimism about Ghana’s participation in the tournament.
The Ghanaian delegation will also participate at the congress of FIFS to provide a platform for the country to share its vision and strategies for developing football skating, both domestically and internationally.
Ghana Skate expects Ghana’s football skating community to eagerly await the return of the team and delegation with glory, and ready to build on the momentum gathered by this historic debut and experience.
