
Ghana is to assume full responsibility for financing its immunisation programmes from next year, with the government set to create a dedicated budget line for vaccines in the 2027 Budget Statement.
The move is intended to safeguard the country’s immunisation gains as support from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (Gavi) gradually declines ahead of its exit from Ghana by 2030.
The Minister of Health, Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, announced this at a health sector engagement in Accra yesterday, where he updated the public on the government’s progress, challenges and priorities in the sector. Read More
