LPG launches manifesto in Ho
The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) launched its manifesto at the Volta Regional capital, Ho, last Saturday under the theme: ‘Empowering Ghanaians for Sustainable Growth and Prosperity for a Better Tomorrow.’
The occasion was also used to unveil the Vice Presidential candidate of the LPG, Mrs Elizabeth Sam, where hundreds of party faithful across the country were in attendance hoping the party would make history this year by winning the general election.
Launching the party’s manifesto, the Presidential Candidate of the LPG, Mr Kofi Akpaloo, outlined the critical issues contained in the manifesto as provision of monthly allowances for children, monthly youth unemployment allowances, building of 10 state-of the –art hospitals.
Mr Akpaloo further enumerated the creation of a US$10 billion job fund, establishment of free university education, training of one hundred thousand entrepreneurs in skills training and fixing of all road networks in the country within the first four years of his term when given the opportunity as the next president.
The LPG Presidential candidate stressed that these were the seven key thematic areas in the manifesto of the party, which aimed at addressing the development challenges confronting the country, and urged Ghanaians to vote massively for him in the 2024 general election in order to enable him to bring the needed development to the citizenry.
The National Chairman of the LPG, Mr John Amekah, said the party had engaged in consultations with Ghanaians which served as a guide in the preparation of the party’s manifesto according to the desires of the people, which showed that Ghanaians were looking for a president and a government that would provide the developmental needs of the people, and also saying, that leader and government is Mr Akpaloo and the LPG.
The General Secretary of the LPG, Mr Jerry Owusu, stated that Ghana needed a leader who would be capable of transforming the country through digitalisation , which he stressed would definitely improve the living conditions of the people.
Mr Owusu said the person who could bring the relevant transformation to Ghanaians is Mr Akpaloo and appealed to the electorates to vote massively for the LPG presidential candidate to ensure that he executes the LPG’s developmental agenda as stated in the party’s manifesto.
The Vice Presidential Candidate of LPG, Mrs Elizabeth Sam, thanked the presidential candidate and party executives for the confidence reposed in her, and noted that she would support Mr Akpaloo to embark on a vigorous campaign to win the pending general election.
She said the campaign of the party would be filled with the spirit of unity and equal opportunity for all to ensure victory for the party, and admitted that the task ahead would not be an easy one.
