Parents urged to show interest in holistic devt of children
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cherryfield Montessori School (CMS), Ms Magadalene Dzifa Adzanu has appealed to parents to show interest in the holistic development of their wards, despite the prevailing economic challenges in the country.
She said the tendency for some parents to focus on their work in an effort to make ends meet to the neglect of their wards due to the economic difficulties was high and this could impact their wards negatively.
“Due to the high cost of living, coupled with the high level of economic demands and skyrocketing prices of goods and services, most parents largely spend their time at work places with the aim of working harder to meet the demands of their families. They hardly spend any quality time with their wards as they have resulted to leaving their wards in school beyond school hours only to come for them late,” she emphasised.
Ms Adzanu made the call at the Seventh graduation and speech and prize-giving day celebration of CMS in Accra over the weekend.
This year’s event was on the theme: “The role of parents in the career development and decision making of their wards,” and was graced by parents, teachers, pupils and past pupils.
Apart from the award of certificates to the graduating classes, best performing pupils and teachers were awarded both in kind and cash.
