
The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has announced the safe recovery of a baby who was recently reported missing at the Mamprobi polyclinic in Accra.
She described the development as good news and expressed gratitude to all those who supported efforts to locate the child.
Speaking with journalists, she thanked a whistleblower and the Police for their roles in the operation.
She stated that officers have confirmed the identity of the baby, while the parents have also verified that the child is theirs.
She added that a suspect connected to the case is currently in Police custody to assist with investigations.
The minister commended some of her colleagues in Parliament for their swift cooperation after she reached out to them.
She assured the public that authorities will continue to monitor the case to ensure the safety of the baby and the mother.
She further noted that social workers will be involved as investigations continue.
According to her, both the baby and the mother have been taken for medical attention, while the Police proceed with further inquiries.
