SSNIT Ends Customer Service Week in Bono East Region

Customer Service Week (CSW) of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) in the Bono East Region has ended in Techiman, with a call on residents to contribute to their future welfare.

The Techiman Branch Manager of SSNIT, Mr Seth Kugblenu, in an interview with the Ghanaian Times on Friday said the CSW was an annual programme where his outfit provided mobile services at the doorsteps of the public.

Mr Kugblenu noted that the aim of the annual week celebration was to educate residents, especially customers about their rights, obligations and responsibilities in the national trust.

“From Monday to today, all the 51 branches of SSNIT across the country are out of their offices to offer various services to our cherished clients. This week is dedicated solely to our customers,” he told the Ghanaian Times.

The Branch Manager indicated that his outfit, during the week offered various services to patrons namely registration of new members, checking of account statements, payment of contributions and merger of Ghana card and SSNIT card.

Others were updating of beneficiaries information, updating of members financial data, checking of claim benefits status and general enquiry on SSNIT among others.

Mr Kugblenu was happy about the high patronage of the week in the Bono East Region saying that “we recorded a daily average total of 100 clients,” adding, “we were able to address almost all the needs of our patrons.”

The Branch manager commended the love and enthusiasm of residents of the region during the CSW saying that “though we experienced breakdown of network, they waited patiently until it was restored “.

He reiterated the mission of the trust to provide income security, for workers in Ghana through excellent business practices saying that we want to be the model for the administration of social protection schemes in Africa and beyond.

“SSNIT is a fundamental human rights issue which is meant to reduce poverty in society. It is important every worker from 15 to 45 years join the trust to ensure bright future after their end of active service,” he indicated.

Mr Kugblenu advised private sector and non formal workers in the Bono East Region, to join the national trust. He said SSNIT places value in professionalism, integrity, leadership, customer focus, commitment, innovation and team work.

The Branch Manager further told the Ghanaian Times that, employers must be arrested and prosecuted for non-payment of their workers SSNIT contribution adding that “it is against the law”.
