16 teams qualify for FA Cup 1/16 stage
Record holders, Accra Hearts of Oak, and giants Asante Kotoko are among 16 clubs that gained qualification to the round of 16 stage of the MTN FA Cup.
The two together and others earned promotion to the next stage after recording round of 32 victories over the weekend.
The 16 teams are from the Premier and Division One (DOL) leagues.
From the Ghana Premier League (GPL) comes former Champions, Medeama SC, Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea, Gold Stars, Karela United, Young Apostles and Hearts and Kotoko.
Those from the DOL include
FC Nania, Techiman Liberty Youth, Northern City, Golden Kicks, PAC Academy and Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs,
In another development, the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Player’s Status Committee (PSC) has released the list of players granted Free Agent (Floating) Status.
“They were declared free agents after undergoing the adjudication process. They have been notified that their letters are ready for pickup at the GFA Secretariat,” a statement from the FA has revealed. The Players’ Status Committee is mandated by the GFA Statutes and relevant Regulations to settle employment, status, eligibility, compensation, and contractual disputes.
The Committee consists of Ish-Ak Alhassan – Chairman, Chris Nana Omari- Vice Chairman, and Kwame Ayew, Sylvester Mensah, and Vivian Aggor as members.
