2 unidentified women found dead in Kumasi
The Suame Police have mounted a search for some unidentified persons who killed two women at Abrepo, in Kumasi on Thursday.
The bodies of the two unidentified women were discovered some metres away from each other near a hotel at Abrepo, Kumasi in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Their bodies have been sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) mortuary for autopsy, but this was after some elders in the community had to pour libation.
According to the source, one of the women, fair in complexion and believed to be in her 40s, had her black trousers pulled down to her knee, without panties with her red blouse pulled up to the neck and a ladies hand bag around the neck.
The other lady was also found wearing a black blouse and skirt, her face and hands pinned to the ground with her skirt unwrapped to the knees.
The source explained that the 40-year-old was found alive by passers-by with a mobile phone stuck in the brassiere but could not speak and later died.
The incident has created fears among the residents some of whom believe the victims might have been gang raped by unknown assailants.
“What is happening to us, all the street lights are not functioning, we are appealing to the government to intervene, else we all would be killed,” a lady lamented.
About four people had been murdered over the past year in the metropolis.
The Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Mrs Elizabeth Agyemang, has disclosed that a meeting would be convened to find solutions to the crime rate in the Kumasi Metropolis.
