Alhaji Osman conferred with Global Peace Ambassador

Alhaji Khuzaimah Mohammed Osman, the Executive Director of Africa Literary Club(ALIC), a Zongo youth empowerment non-governmental organisation (NGO), in Accra, has been honoured with  Global Peace Passport and Global Peace Ambassador Certificate, to promote advocacy on global peace and inter-faith peaceful coexistence.

He has conferred the two documents at the close of the Global Peace Summit Turkey 2021 held last week in Istanbul, organised by  the Global Peace Chain for young persons across the globe, to deliberate on global friendship, cross cultural exchange, leadership development and youth empowerment.

Alhaji Osman, who is also the Executive Secretary of the Tijjaniya Muslims Movement of Ghana, told the Ghanaian Times by phone that he was privileged to be given the two documents.

He noted that “the media world has been so unfriendly and biased to Islam and Muslims, attaching terrorism and violence to Islam.

“So, for a Muslim to be recognised and given a global peace ambassador and certificate of recognition of efforts to promote peace and tolerance, I deem it a great achievement especially in the era where the most important item or action that one ought to do above all is to promote peace and peaceful coexistence of all humans regardless of our race, religion, sex or social background and status”.

Alhaji Osman said “This is a big achievement that would serve as a vehicle for me to continue to spread the message of peace, tolerance and interfaith at the local and Global stages”.

He shared his experience with Ghana’s National Peace Council, saying that “it’s one of the most credible institution in the country that mediate and intervene for the purposes of maintaining Peace and Stability and to prevent violence and conflict.”

Meanwhile, Alhaji Osman is expected to join the virtual meeting of the emerging leaders at the 21Wilberforce’s Global FoRB Action Summit scheduled for November 5-7.

The 21Wilberforce is a Christian human rights non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the growing global need to protect and advance freedom of religion, belief, and conscience (FoRB).

It also seeks to stand with, advocate, and tangibly support people and communities that are threatened or are being persecuted because of their religious faith, practice, or conscience.

Alhaji Osman had earlier had been the guest speaker at the annual celebration of Prophet Muhammed’s birthday in Baltimore, US, under the auspices of AlhajiSafyanu Ali Danbukar, a representative of Tijjaniya Muslims in Baltimore.

The ALIC has been founded at Fadama, a suburb of Accra, and it engages trainers, academics, traditional authorities, religious leaders, inter-faith advocates and entertainment experts to instil in the youth the spirit of peace building, national development and global peace.
