Bernardo Silva wants to leave Man City

Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva, has reportedly expressed his desire to leave the Etihad this summer, amid interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Portugal international has been an integral part of the Citizens team which achieved a historic treble under Pep Guardiola this season – Silva played the entire match as his side defeated Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday.

That success in Istanbul made it 14 major trophies in six years for the 28-year-old on the blue side of Manchester, with Silva having now played over 300 games since making the switch from Monaco in 2017.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Silva has notified Manchester City that he wishes to leave the club ahead of next season, with the player seeking a ‘new project’ elsewhere.

The report adds that European giants, PSG and Barcelona, are interested in securing the services of Silva, however the latter could have issues in raising the funds necessary to complete a deal.

It is believed that the Premier League champions value their Portuguese playmaker at £75m – a price tag which puts the Catalan club’s ability to complete the transfer into doubt.

Silva will join up with his national side for European Championship qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland over the next fortnight before a well-deserved break.
