Chief Director donates 350 books on public service machinery to Civil Service Council
THE Chief Director of the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mr Benjamin Afful, has donated 350 copies of a book authored by him to the Civil Service Council.
The 157-page book titled “Discourse, Dissent and Convergence” entails analysis of the public service in development in five chapters, with each of them detailing some unique perspectives of the public service machinery.
Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony in Accra, Mr Afful said though the content of the book had been crafted to address challenges in the sector, it may not represent a total solution to the dynamics of future problems of the service.
He acknowledged the opportunity to serve in his capacity as a civil servant in the public service given that he had acquired some unique experience to produce such a content to guide generations of the public service.
The Chairperson of the Civil Service Council, Justice (rtd.) Rose Owusu, commended the Chief Director for the donation and assured that they would be distributed to all concerned to inform future actions.
The Head of the Civil Service, Nana Kwesi Agyekum Dwamena, thanked MrAfful for such intellectual feat towards improving the public service.
He said the book did not only analyse the public service in development, but also offered a guide to policy implementors on how to manage change in the service.
Mr Benjamin Afful is an astute lawyer serving in his capacity as a civil servant. He has authored six books.
He is currently researching and developing materials for effective understanding and appreciation of the role of chieftaincy institution in the development of state.
