CSquared People Managers end Emotional Intelligence training

The need for training in emotional intelligence has been highlighted by Estelle Akofio-Sowah, the Country Director of CSquared, a technology company.
She reiterated that the training had become very important, especially in these difficult times of COVID-19 and its numerous negative effects on people.
Making special reference to workers’ well being and productivity, she said the staff of companies, especially managers dealing directly with people on a large scale, must be given training that could help them deal with difficult times.

Ms Akofio-Sowah made the remarks at the end of a two-day training for People Managers of CSquared Ghana in Accrafrom Tuesday to Wednesday last week.
“I am optimistic that what my People Managers have learnt would help improve their relationship with staff at the workplace as well as others to help them manage distress emotions effectively to improvethe company’s bottom line,” she said.

The training was on the theme ‘The Importance of Emotional Intelligence in relation to productivity and staff wellbeing.’

CSquared said the face-to-face session would be followed up with a three-week online master course to ensure that the staff would really deepen their emotional intelligence development skills for a maximum impact.
In the closing session on Thursday, the staff were taken through the following modules: self-awareness and management; social management; emotional safety and workplace psychological safety.
The training was facilitated by the nation’s first internationally-qualified emotional intelligence coach, James Kwesi Addison, who doubles as the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ghana’s premier centre dedicated to the development of emotional intelligence called Addison International Center for Emotional Intelligence (AICEI).
Mr Addison expressed the belief that “without good people management skills, even the most promising organisations can fall apart in a flash”.
He, therefore, urged corporate Ghana to emulate the courage of CSquared to ensure its staff were equipped with insights and practical tools to help transform results from “good enough to beyond expectations”.
CSquared is a technology company making commercially-driven investments in broadband-enabling infrastructure throughout Africa.
