More than 5,285 persons have been displaced at Hohoe in the Volta Region following heavy rains yesterday, which caused the River Dayi to overflow its banks.
The torrential rainfall and flooding also affected 400 households, some of whose homes collapsed.
The flood victims, mainly from Hohoe Zongo, were evacuated to safety in mosques and school buildings. There was no casualty.
The Hohoe Municipal National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Coordinator, Mr Raphael Kumagah, who disclosed this to The Ghanaian Times here, said his outfit was in control of the situation. Read More
