Contestants of the Miss Ghana 2026 pageant traded their heels for gloves on Saturday, July 11,2026 as they joined the National Clean-Up Exercise in Accra, supporting the President’s directive to restore cleanliness across the country.
Led by the Chairperson of the Miss Ghana Foundation, Inna Patty, Esq., the contestants worked alongside the Buzstop Boys and staff of BOST Energies to clean gutters, streets and public spaces in East Legon, Bawaleshi and Shiashi.

The activity forms part of the Miss Ghana Foundation’s ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ initiative, which encourages contestants to serve as ambassadors for social impact through community service, volunteerism and sustainable development.
The clean-up targeted choked drains and littered areas, contributing to ongoing efforts to improve environmental sanitation and promote civic responsibility in the capital.
Speaking after the exercise, CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana and Chairperson of the Miss Ghana Foundation, Inna Patty, Esq., described the initiative as a reminder that nation-building starts with everyday service.
“It was hard work, incredibly rewarding and a powerful reminder that building the Ghana we all desire begins with each one of us. Clean communities are healthier, safer and more attractive for investment and tourism. We commend His Excellency the President for championing this national initiative and applaud the remarkable work of the Bus Stop Boys and BOST Energies for leading by example,” she said.
She added that the pageant is more than the crown.
According to her, “At the Miss Ghana Foundation, we believe leadership is demonstrated through service. Our contestants are not just preparing for a crown; they are preparing to become responsible citizens and change-makers who inspire others to give back to their communities. We encourage every Ghanaian to make cleanliness a daily habit, not just a monthly exercise.”
She further added that “true beauty is reflected not only in appearance but also in compassion, service and a commitment to improving society.”
Volunteers from various organisations also joined the exercise, highlighting the importance of partnerships between the public, private and civil society sectors in building a cleaner and healthier Ghana.
The 69th edition of Miss Ghana is being held under the theme “Empowering Women, Enduring Legacy.”
The pageant continues to place equal emphasis on leadership, education, entrepreneurship, advocacy and social responsibility.
