Nornyibey to contest NDC Dome Kwabenya seat
Israel Nornyibey has filed his nomination to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s parliamentary primary at the Dome Kwabenya Constituency.
He was the first to file his nomination on Thursday morning after declaring his intentions and picking up the forms a couple of weeks ago.
Joined by some party faithfuls and hundreds of sympathisers in the constituency, Mr Nornyibey submitted his nomination form at the NDC office in Dome Kwabenya at 9:30am and set to contest in the primary scheduled for August 24.
Speaking to party faithful after filing his nomination, Mr Nornyibey, described by many as the ‘Game Changer’ said he was poised to ensuring that the party unseat the New Patriotic Party(NPP) after the elections.
The constituency has over the years been a strong hold for the NPP, but Mr Nornyibey said with unity and peace, they could turn things around for the NDC.
“The change expected in Dome Kwabenya has just begun as the party will be united and ensure we win the elections, I am the unifier and will work with all to put the party together and will advise the youth to come together to ensure the NDC comes back to power in 2021.
“With the filing out of the way, we look forward to a successful vetting next week and the primary by the end of next month, the primary is a family contest and we must avoid using rough tactics or dubious means to eliminate anyone, we should rather support the best candidate and present a strong candidate who will snatch the seat from the NPP.
“I express gratitude to all sympathisers, faithful, well wishers, supporters and elders of the party for coming together to support me and I urge them to keep up the support and assistance, as we hope to cover all grounds within the constituency.
