Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Mr. Percival Kofi Akpaloo, says the NPP can only win the 2028 elections if it sacks former flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong and undertakes internal reforms to strengthen party unity.
Speaking in an interview with Angel FM in Accra, Mr. Akpaloo today, argued that removing Mr. Agyapong would show discipline and boost the NPP’s electoral chances.
He cited examples from rival parties, noting that the NDC did not collapse after some stalwarts left, and that the NPP itself won the 2016 elections despite suspending then-Chairman Paul Afoko, General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, and second Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe.
“If the NPP is serious about winning the next election, then they should sack Kennedy Agyapong,” Mr. Akpaloo stated.
He added that allowing Mr. Agyapong to remain in the party despite what he called “indiscipline” would make the leadership look weak and undermine its chances at the polls.
