Peace Council member attends G20 interfaith forum in Brazil
Alhaji Khuzaima Mohammed Osman, member and Chairman of the Finance and Fundraising Committee of the Greater Accra Regional Peace Council of the National Peace Council, is in attendance at the 2024 G20 Interfaith Forum at Brasília, the capital of Brazil.
In a letter inviting Alhaji Osman, the local Organising Committee of this year’s forum said, “Alhaji Osman’s participation in our conference is essential for fostering international collaboration, sharing knowledge, advancing research in the field of religion and sustainable development, and enriching the discussions and outcomes of our gathering, as he will actively engage in the panels, talks and discussions.”
The forum is co-organised by the International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development (PaRD) and the G20 Interfaith Forum (IF20) in collaboration with us as local partners, the Brazilian Centre of Studies in Law and Religion (CEDIRE), of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU).
The IF20 with 160 members across 40 countries globally provide an annual platform for a network of religiously affiliated institutions and initiatives to engage with global agendas, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Since its inception in 2014, IF20 helped to shape global policy agendas by offering insightful recommendations, drawing on the teachings and experience of religious institutions.
In an interview with the Ghanaian Times, Alhaji Osman, who is also the Executive Secretary of the of the Tijjaniya Muslims of Ghana, indicated his delight to be among world leaders in promoting sustainable peace, human rights and development at this year’s forum in Brazil
