The implementation of the Accra Reset Initiative is set to begin following the launch of a global health reform blueprint on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, United States.
The blueprint, contained in the report of the High-Level Panel on Reform of the Global Health Architecture and Governance, sets out five political shifts and 10 practical recommendations aimed at strengthening national health systems, promoting local pharmaceutical manufacturing and advancing a more equitable global health architecture.
The five shifts are practical sovereignty, sovereign partnership, health manufacturing, functions before institutions and independent accountability systems.
The accountability framework seeks to move away from institutional self-reporting towards publicly available and objective tracking of progress. Read More
