que leads tributes to Jesus de Miguel after tragic death

GERARD PIQUE has led the tributes to Jesus de Miguel Alameda, who has tragically died aged 30.

The CD Tenerife star passed away yesterday following a horror clash with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono in the side’s Segunda Division match.

Miguel suffered a cardiac arrest following a reckless 97th-minute challenge from Owono, who accidentally kneed the forward in the chest at tremendous speed as he tried to cut out the ball.

The match ended up being suspended while the forward received urgent treatment and was eventually abandoned.

Medics managed to revive Miguel in the ambulance before rapidly transporting him to Nuestra Senora Candelaria University Hospital.

But he sadly ended up passing away.

Tributes have poured in from around the world for the late Miguel, including from FC Andorra owner Pique.

The Barcelona and Spain legend wrote on X: “I am sorry with all my soul. Rest in peace, Jesus.”

Pique’s former Spain team-mate David de Gea also paid tribute, commenting “💔🙏🏼” under CD Tenerife’s X post announcing Miguel’s passing.

Aymeric Laporte commented: “RIP 🙏🏼🤍🕊️.”

England star Jude Bellingham posted a picture of Miguel with the caption “RIP” and a broken heart emoji to his Instagram story.

While Real Madrid team-mate Kylian Mbappe wrote: “So much sadness. There are no words. Rest in peace.”
