SHE delegation arrives today for Ghana launch
In furtherance of its corporate mission to strengthen female leadership in Africa, SHE Empowerment Global is set to be launched in Ghana to provide poor single women, including mothers, with essential entrepreneurial skills and resources to improve their income.
A delegation, headed by the founder, Lady Patricia Adams Williams, accompanied by SHE Empowerment Global Ambassador, Dr Cheryl Polte-Williamson, and Board member Dr Shirley Clarke, is expected in the country today, for the launch, scheduled for October 11 at Alisa Hotel.
A presser issued on the eve of the delegation’s arrival in Accra, said, the organisation’s vision was to empower poor single women, including mothers, ages 18-35, with entrepreneurial skills to enable them to achieve economic independence and create prosperous futures for themselves.
“She Empowerment Global has set out to break the cycle of poverty and dependency among single women, including mothers aged 18 to 35 by fostering economic independence through entrepreneurship training,” Lady Patricia stated.
To ensure sustainability, she added, “we foster businesses that are scalable, so that participants not only generate income but can also reinvest and grow.”
Lady Patricia is certain that if policymakers nurture the entrepreneurial skills of women in Ghana it could help kickstart the next phase of economic development in the country.
In collaboration with a team of key Ghanaian stakeholders, including Nana Oye Bampoe, gender activist; Madam Delasi Amable, a Development Consultant and Dr Benedict Yartey, an educationist, the delegation will hold meetings with government officials, policy makers, local NGOs, community leaders and potential partners in the private sector.
The delegation will tour the Princess Marie Louise Hospital facility at Kantamanto in Accra for discussions with the administration to explore the mutual benefits of collaboration, and meet to share SHE’s vision with the Ghana Beauticians Association.
The team will, on October 12, be the guests at a durbar organised by the Paramount Queenmother, Mamaga Atove IV and the people of Leklebi Traditional Area.
On Thursday, it will hold meetings with the staff of the Africa Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA) whose Executive Director, Dr Rasheed Draman, a Ghanaian, sits on the Board of SHE Empowerment Global.
Lady Patricia Adams Williams, SHE’s founder, is a well-known figure in the fields of education, child development, and community service. She is an Executive Member of the American Care Foundation (ACF), a non-profit organisation which she founded in 2002 to provide educational support, assistance and training to families and children, fostering young children’s learning, growth and development.
Co-founder, Dr Cheryl Polote-Williamson, has attained renowned status as a visionary businesswoman, transformational speaker, multi-best-selling author, and sought-after mindset coach. A prolific author, Dr Cheryl has penned 19 best-selling books, including “The Art of Influence” and ‘Affirmed: 365 Positive Thoughts & Actions to Start Your Day’
In addition to Dr Polote-Williamson, SHE has a Ghanaian co-founder, Madam Ernestina Alandu, an experienced banker and educationist, who doubles as the organisation’s Country Director.
On the SHE delegation from the USA is a Board Member, Dr Shirley K. Clark, a women’s empowerment coach with more than 40 years of experience as a Global Community Leader. Her unwavering dedication to philanthropy and humanitarian work has empowered over 30,000 women in marketplace Christian leadership. She has been recognised with Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards from both President Obama and President Biden.
