Vice President urges BECE candidates to be confident, honest

The Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has extended her best wishes to candidates sitting for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), urging them to approach the exercise with confidence, honesty and determination.

In a statement issued from the Office of the Vice President yesterday, she expressed confidence that candidates would perform well, having prepared through years of discipline, hard work and dedication.

She encouraged the students to remain focused throughout the examination period and to uphold integrity, stressing that honesty is essential to maintaining the credibility of the process.

The Vice President also commended the Ghana Education Service, teachers, parents and other stakeholders for their role in preparing the candidates for the national examination. She noted that their efforts had equipped students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed.

At the same time, she called on supervisors, invigilators and school authorities to ensure strict adherence to examination regulations. According to her, fairness and transparency were critical to guaranteeing credible outcomes.

The BECE remains a key milestone in Ghana’s education system, serving as the main determinant for placement into senior high schools.

Thousands of candidates across the country are expected to sit for the examination this week.
