Bodo/Glimt stun Inter Milan to reach Champions League last 16

Bodo/Glimt produced a historic European night by knocking Italian giants Inter Milan out of the Champions League to reach the last 16 for the first time in their history.
After leading 3-1 from last week’s first leg in the Arctic Circle, the Norwegian side stunned the San Siro with second-half goals from Jens Petter Hauge and Håkon Evjen. Alessandro Bastoni scored a late consolation for Inter, but it wasn’t enough to overturn Bodo/Glimt’s aggregate advantage.
More than 3,000 Bodo/Glimt fans traveled to Milan to witness the remarkable feat, a huge turnout for a club from a city of around 50,000 people. The victory sets up a last-16 tie against either Manchester City or Sporting Lisbon.
Inter Milan dominated early chances, with Pio Esposito and Federico Dimarco testing Bodo/Glimt goalkeeper Nikita Haikin. However, Bodo/Glimt’s defense absorbed the pressure and capitalized on rare opportunities. Hauge opened the scoring in the 58th minute after Ole Didrik Blomberg’s initial miss, followed by Evjen’s goal in the 72nd minute to seal the tie.
Bodo/Glimt, four-time Norwegian champions in the last six seasons, now await their next European challenge, while Inter must refocus on their Serie A campaign, where they currently lead AC Milan by 10 points. -The Sun
