Kotoko target Dreams FC fall
A week after brushing aside the bluff of their biggest rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will turn their attention to a new challenge posed by Dreams FC, their opponent in the match day four games of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) at the Tuba astro turf in Kasoa.
That win moved the Porcupine Warriors to the sixth position on the log and considered as one of the sides to gun for the title.
It is the reason they will not take the Dreams FC test lightly, knowing what good the points could do to their challenge.
Against the Phobians, they showed a character that suggests an ability to return to the top of the table. What has been lacking with them, however, has been consistency.
Obviously, Dreams FC is not in the best of forms this season. It is, therefore, the right moment for the Reds to play them and must not let that opportunity slip through the fingers.
Surprise league leaders, Heart of Lions, will be back to their Kpando Stadium fortress to face Basake Holy Stars.
Holy Stars have shown confidence in their away games and just as they sold very good performances against Hearts of Oak in Accra and others away from home, they would represent very difficult hurdles to clear.
However, being at the top of the table for a week has actually projected the Lions from Kpando and would be hugely motivated to go for the win to stay there.
For Nations FC, engaging Legon Cities at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex is a guarantee for another three points considering the poor run of the visitors
For the third consecutive time, Legon Cities has been struggling for survival. Last season, they survived by a hair’s breadth.
Guided by Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin, they find themselves in a similar situation and currently do not look like a side capable of stopping Nations FC, an improved side with an eye on the league diadem.
Bechem United will be in a battle of their lives as they welcome FC Samartex 1996 to the Nana Gyeabour Park in what is expected to be full of fireworks.
Nsoatreman FC will visit Bibiani to battle Gold Stars FC while Vision FC travel to Wenchi to face the might of Young Apostles.
Aduana FC and Accra Lions will slug it out at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro.
Medeama SC’s home match against Karela United has been postponed to January 1, 2025.
The weekend’s round of matches would, however, kick start today with a 7pm clash involving Accra Hearts of Oak and Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium
