Premier League returns weekend
The Ghana Premier League (GPL) returns this weekend following the conclusion of the MTN FA round of 32 where 16 teams have secured passage to the next stage of the Cup competition.
The attention will now shift to the nine centres across the country with match day 17 set to be rolled out.
The league will return with a tasty clash between Accra Lions and Gold Stars FC at the WAFA Park in Sogakope on Sunday.
Asante Kotoko entertain Premier League new boys, Vision FC, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi while Accra Hearts of Oak travel to Samreboi to face off against FC Samartex 1996 in the top liner of match day 17.
It will be one game that will attract the attention of followers following the Phobian’s rise from their initials struggles.
But Samartex has proven with time their ability to confront every opposition at home and would be aiming at halting the sooth run of Hearts.
Nsoatreman FC is expected to host Karela United just as Basake Holy Stars return to the Crosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park to battle Aduana FC in a clash termed as one for equals.
Medeama SC are expected to make the long journey to the Golden City Park to battle Berekum Chelsea.
But league leaders, Heart of Lions, would be out to prove to many that their new form was no fluke`with a strong case to account Nations FC
Young Apostles host red-hot Bechem United in a Bono derby on Sunday.
Basement club, Legon Cities, host Dreams FC at the University of Ghana in what is expected to be an entertaining matchup at the University of Ghana Stadium.
